“It’s good. I wish there was more emphasis on team play, and in teams working more together. There are lots of coaches around, but there is not much getting to know the players and getting the players to work on their weaknesses. Hoop Code is more like a factory and the coaches, while good, don’t always take much time to correct the players to help them improve. It’s more like a big assembly line, at least at the 4th grade and younger levels.”

“I would like to see more individual attention to details with kids, but I do understand there are many kids in the program. Some coaches pull kids aside more than others, but I think it would be very beneficial to do more of it in general. Also, for the "team" practice day, I feel it would be helpful to see more individual team work, rather than the layup/shooting drills. But maybe that comes in the later years. my child is in 3rd grade.”

“I really like the program, but I feel the communication is incredibly limited and confusing to some extent. It would be nice to have an orientation moment prior to a new season. We are a new family to Hoop Code, and I have felt quite a bit of anxiety over the lack of communication. My son plays other sports and they have a parents meeting after the first practice to set expectations. I would have appreciated that.”
